“We have had our first day without sighting land and I am really loving it. My watch last night went really well. I am feeling that I am gradually getting used to the way the boat moves and responds and therefore I am growing in confidence.”

“Six days of sailing and finally in Sri Lanka! I felt very privileged to be on the watch that sighted land. I also had to pilot us into the harbour in Sri Lanka, which was good fun. The waters around these parts are teeming with fish, they were literally jumping as we headed in.”

After exploring Sri Lanka, Richard was impressed with the people and the lifestyle: “I love the way of life here, it seems so stress free and relaxed. The people here have been so friendly.”

On his return Richard said; “The trip gave me a life changing experience.”
