Ventnor 


Ventnor is now one of the trendiest tourist destinations on the Isle of Wight with the popular Ventnor music festivals – the Jazz festival & the Folks and Blues festival, and some of the Isle of Wight’s highest quality Hotels and restaurants; Ventnor does appear to be going from strength to strength.

Ventnor Harbour Project
IWEP helped to provide the harbour at Ventnor by accessing government funding through SRB II. The funding programme has now finished but the results will bring long term benefits to the town.
The project provided Ventnor with the only landing point in the South Wight which makes Ventnor an ideal launch-pad for sailing trips to France and provides clean bathing water for the Ventnor coast. This harbour provides better facilities for the local fishing industry and increases mooring for leisure craft.

Ventnor Harbour was part of a larger project to regenerate the whole Eastern Esplanade and assisting to improve the local economy.

The Harbour project has been funded by the Single Regeneration Budget (totalling £1.3 million) with investment from the Private Sector (Southern Water invested £10million as part of their clean water programme) and the Public Sector (IW Council invested £125,000 and MAFF £375,000) in order to improve the seafront area.
