Kevin Cadd, Account Engineer

Kevin Cadd completed an MEng Aeronautical Engineering, and he is now working for Gurit as Graduate Account Engineer, on the Isle of Wight.

I originally applied to Gurit UK for summer work experience whilst I busied myself with the process of applying to graduate schemes. Then I was asked if I’d be interested in being considered for Gurit’s own graduate scheme; I was finding life hard without my student card so I agreed.

After learning more about the company, it soon struck me that despite being smaller compared to others that I was considering, it was far more personable and presented increased opportunities for playing a meaningful role within the company from day one.


Having been here since June 2005, I am happy to have been proved right... Gurit have thrown me in at the deep end! I chose to relocate to the Island, although travel support would have been provided if I wanted to live in Southampton and commute.

After an initial induction period I have already been working through technical problems with customer’s onsite, alongside being provided with all the training I’ll need.

I’ve also been sent to Germany to trial an automated two-component mixing machine on behalf of one of our major Wind Energy customers. Working as an Account Engineer is both interesting and challenging and the composites industry is growing rapidly so the team here has to learn quickly to remain way ahead of the competition!
