Isle of Wight Graduate case study

Hannah Holmes, Customer Liaison Manager

Hannah moved to the Isle of Wight after completing a degree at Plymouth University, she loves the lifestyle and career opportunities the Isle of Wight offers.

Company:

I am working at the UK Sailing Academy in Cowes, on the Isle of Wight. The UKSA is a premier sailing and watersports training school, offering Yachting and Watersport courses to a range of individuals.

Since I have been working within UKSA, I have been given responsibility and now manage staff which is a great experience. My responsibilities have increased greatly since I started in June 2004 and I am now in charge of accommodating all students on site, rooming up to 250 students at one time.

Why the Isle of Wight?
It has great work opportunities, but also offers so much more then working in a big city where you can feel fairly unimportant. It has a great lifestyle to offer.

I have built up lots of friends here, having come here without knowing anyone and we not only go to the pub, bars etc, but we can also chill out - go to the beach, have bbq’s, get to the countryside and go sailing, windsurfing and surfing. It’s fantastic.
