Isle of Wight case study

Anna Symcox PR Manager

Anna Symcox works as PR Manager, for UK Sailing Academy (UKSA) which is a unique training establishment for the marine environment, based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight.  She is responsible for overseeing all the media activities.

Anna’s role is varied and demanding. With Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal as Patron to UKSA, Dame Ellen MacArthur, Shirley Robertson OBE and Nick Moloney as their Ambassadors, Anna is involved with a variety of high profile activities.

UKSA’s professional yacht training programmes attract students from across the globe, meaning Anna is in contact with international media on a regular basis, promoting the Island as a top training destination.

Anna enjoys the lifestyle on the Isle of Wight, with plenty of outdoor activities, and she also has the chance to go windsurfing or sailing after work.

Why the Isle of Wight?

“Working at UKSA has given me so many opportunities, I have travelled to Australia, managed the PR for the Gipsy Moth IV project and I have even organised an event in Buckingham Palace, but the best thing about working for UKSA is being able to live in Cowes, walk to work and go windsurfing after work in the summer.”
