Pink Toolbox at the Innovation Centre

Friday, June 15, 2007

The Innovation Centre’s newest tenants are quirky giftware suppliers The Pink Toolbox Company, who have moved to larger offices to accommodate their rapidly growing business. Following the success of their ‘Pink Toolbox’, which won the Gift of the Year Award in 2006, the company is expanding its product range of co-ordinated kits for the home, car and garden.

The Pink Toolbox Company was formed in 2005 when co-founder Rick Ganley visited some female relatives who had saved all their DIY jobs for him, and he realised the need for toolkits that women would want to use. The product range now includes a car kit, travel kit and PC kit, all in neat packaging – and of course all in pink. The company already supplies several major high street retailers and international stores, as well as selling directly through their website.

Paddy McCarthy, co-founder of The Pink Toolbox Company, explains “The Innovation Centre is the ideal choice for us as we need more space to grow, and it takes away all the hassles of managing our own premises. It’s a very supportive environment for young companies.”

“The Pink Toolbox Company has taken a great idea and made it into a thriving business, operating internationally while enjoying the benefits of life on the Isle of Wight. We hope other businesses will follow their example and be inspired to succeed here.” Mike King, Managing Director of the Isle of Wight Economic Partnership.

The Innovation Centre is run by the Isle of Wight Economic Partnership as part of their work encouraging economic growth on the Island, by providing flexible and supportive accommodation for young companies.
