Isle of Wight businesses meet national journalists
Monday, September 4, 2006
Island businesses met journalists from leading national magazines, including the Financial Times, to promote job opportunities to educated and skilled Engineering Graduates.
Many local businesses report difficulties recruiting graduates and scientists, so a Journalist visit was organised - to illustrate and promote the fantastic career opportunities and great lifestyle the Isle of Wight can offer.
The Journalists were taken around the top Engineering, Aerospace and Manufacturing businesses based on the Island, including Gurit, Vestas Blades, BN Aerospace, RF Engines and Enabling Technologies, and were also shown around the Island to see the beautiful surroundings.
The Isle of Wight Economic Partnership co-ordinate this project to attract Graduates to the Island, and promote the Graduate opportunities to young people that live here already.
Mike King, Managing Director of Isle of Wight Economic Partnership said
“The more graduates in the workforce the higher the productivity which in turn can drive up salaries and have a really positive effect on the local economy, and local people.”
Any Engineering Graduates are invited to visit our website for more information about Job Vacancies on the Isle of Wight. www.iwep.com/engineering.
