Isle of Wight Economic Partnership celebrates achievements

Thursday, September 28, 2006

IWEP held an event to celebrate its 10th anniversary and the success of projects that have been carried out in this time.

Approximately 150 guests attended, including Cllr Andy Sutton, Leader of IWC, Andrew Turner MP, members of the Isle of Wight Council, businesses, projects leaders and members of the Isle of Wight media.

The evening followed a “Parkinson” style format, including interviews with project leaders and film clips of other assisted projects.

Mike King, Managing Director of Isle of Wight Economic Partnership said, “This event is designed to show the range of projects we have been able to support, and the benefit they have brought to Island people.”

“I think we often forget that the economy is about people, everything we do is designed to somehow improve the prosperity, the facilities or opportunities for local people.”
