Innovation Centre goes wireless

A new, free wireless internet facility is available for visitors to the Innovation Centre in Newport. This means that visitors to the centre can log on check their emails, use the internet and work easily away from their offices via a secure network.
The WiFi internet hotspot is part of the Innovation Centre’s aim to provide the highest quality office services as part of the inclusive package it offers to resident companies. The service is currently available as a trial, if it proves successful it may become a permanent feature.

Mike King, Managing Director of Isle of Wight Economic Partnership which runs the Innovation Centre, said “In today’s market everyone appreciates the importance of business connectivity and we are delighted to be able to help our visitors achieve this. The whole ethos behind our Innovation Centre is to encourage the growth of local businesses – by offering their clients an excellent service we can help them make a really good impression and win more business.”

The WiFi system was installed and is managed by Navigate Solutions, who provide bespoke IT and network support on the Island and the along the South Coast.

Paul Wood, Managing Director of Navigate Solutions explained, “The secure WiFi connection we have provided in the Innovation Centre gives visitors the flexibility to work from anywhere in the building, meaning they can fill time between meetings and access information from their own servers whenever they need it.”


Navigate Solutions is based in the Innovation Centre, and has experienced the service from both sides. Paul Wood says, “We have already seen the benefits for some of our own visitors – it gives a great impression to be able to offer the extras that makes the Innovation Centre one of the most prestigious business addresses on the Island.”
