Godshill Organics receives funding for onsite butchery
Since 1994, the family run business of Godshill Organics has both growing and retailing enterprises licensed by the Soil Association giving the customer assurance that their organic products are indeed organic.
The latest addition to Godshill Organics, is an onsite butchery offering fresh cuts of organic pork, beef and lamb, along with bacon from their own organic pigs. This facility has been supported through the LEADER element of the Rural Development Programme for England.
The availability of freshly cut meat has enabled their chef to produce a range of homemade pies, pastries and patés, which have proved very popular, with Godshill Organics now supplying an organic wholesaler for mainland outlets.
LEADER also aided the purchase of a refrigerated van and trailer which enables Godshill Organics to take pigs to the slaughter house and bring back supplies, reducing the number of journeys required and bringing environmental benefits as well as cost savings.
